Apparently, some six year old Aryan boy said something stupid and racist on the Jimmy Kimmel show, suggesting that we kill the people in China to get rid of our economic problems. Ignoring the fact that this kid is hardly old enough to be out of diapers, and likely doesn't even know what racism is, and certainly doesn't understand that without China as a trading partner, the US would be in dire straits, some viewers are very upset. Some Chinese Americans have gone so far as to demand an apology from Kimmel, ABC, and the Disney Corporation Jimmy Kimmel did little to alleviate the matter when he satirically continued along with this kids train of thought. This is a huge ethical issue in modern America. Now, even though this is satire, and it was only a little kid who said it, I think this entire controversy is indicative of a major social issue that nobody likes to talk about for fear of being vilified. Indeed, even in the progressive environment that is 2013 America, some people still don't have a sense of humor. Put into perspective, I am an Irish Polack. Fifty years ago, I wouldn't have been able to apply for a job anywhere. Within the past century, college debate teams were arguing if I was technically a human. I'm a drunk moron and it takes exactly zero potatoes to kill me. But, I can laugh about all of these things and none of them bother me, because I have a sense of humor. Jimmy Kimmel was SATIRIZING the kid's stupid view and reducing it to absurdity, and still he is being crucified? How is that morally correct? How is that just? And to all the people demanding apologies and blowing this whole thing out of proportion, Disney's stock has increased in value since the start of the issue, so logically all you're doing is perpetuating a culture of yellow journalism and a cycle of outrage.
