Flame Off

Obama Admits he Would Break his Promise Before Obamacare Passed.

I tried to interject in debates on other videos with no takers but this one proved to have results.  My interaction was with user KEVronista. This users comments (or at least the way I took them) were on how the ACA has nothing to do with all the Americans that are getting dropped by their insurance companies. I started by responding to a comment made by KEVronista on how the ACA and the president was nothing but consistent with what was said before. My interjection was on how in just a few states alone many Americans were being dropped and backed up my claim with a link to Forbes news article on how this has been happening. The response was mostly the same with it is the insurance companies dropping people and I failed to get a supported rebuttal so I responded back asking how this was happening and why if it has nothing to do with the ACA. I did attempt with a couple of my responses to get the user to explain and support their side so I could truly understand but all I got back was an quick overview of insurance company fluctuations. For my fifth comment I just made a question to what is going on and what people think of the speech from this morning on the President attempting to get those people dropped back on their plans..

KEvronista3 days ago   you nutjobs may peddle all the baloney you like, inveterate liars that you are, but nothing in aca prevents anyone from keeping their existing policy. period. obama's comment here is completely consistent with his previous assurances.

taiko_hymn         3 days ago                                                    +KEvronista then why have there already been many that have lost their existing policy and are basically being forced to find a new one?
"Over 500,000 individuals have seen their insurance policies cancelled in just 3 states" -http://www.forbes.com/sites/theapothecary/2013/10/24/more-americans-have-had-their-insurance-canceled-under-obamacare-than-have-filed-an-exchange-account/

KEvronista   3 days ago (edited)   +taiko_hymn    haven't you heard?! because their insurance companies dropped them. had their insurance companies not dropped them, they'd have been able to keep those existing policies.

taiko_hymn   3 days ago         +KEvronista but isn't it because their insurance companies had to change the policies due to the aca which means they had to drop those people even though Obama told the American public they plans they have now will not change and they can keep them.

Denny Neff3 days ago       My neighbor, who had an AARP supplemental to his Medicare had their policy dropped and were told to seek coverage from the government site.  When he was able to locate coverage, it cost him considerably more money with higher deductibles and higher copays. They are on Social Security and cannot afford to pay more for less and have greater out of pocket expenses.  Obama lied as far as they are concerned.  If the ACA will not accept AARP, THEY ARE IN TROUBLE.  AARP contributed heavily to the Obama campaign and they are gonna be pissed.

taiko_hymn  3 days ago    +Denny Neff your real life story is why I don't understand why +KEvronista is saying there is nothing in the aca keeping those that want to from having to get rid of an existing policy. I would like some proof to this claim when Denny here gave, grained only one, but real proof of what is happening. If we should be able to keep our policies under the ACA why are insurance companies having to change their set up and drop people?

KEvronista  3 days ago  +taiko_hymn   aca doesn't force insurance companies to change the terms to their existing policies terms; terms regularly change because of actuaries, market forces, fluctuations in demographics, etc. aca says they may not sell new policies that don't meet aca standards. obama didn't say our coverage wouldn't change. he said we could keep our existing policies. if your carrier drops you, then you no longer have any coverage to keep.

taiko_hymn            +KEvronista ok I am honestly trying to wrap my head around this; so I get not selling new policies that don't meet the standards but why have SO MANY been dropped....would these people not have the right to be grandfathered in and keep what they have as Obama said? That I guess is what I am not getting, why millions already have been dropped in such a short time if the companies have not been forced to change their plans due to aca but a natural term change that happens all the time
